MAN UNITED STAR: I WILL MAKE A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT TONIGHT

JUAN MATA has sparked speculation among the Manchester United fans this week.

The Spaniard, who is celebrating his 28th birthday today, is set to reveal a 'big announcement' later this evening.

 

Mata's social media accounts have been focused on the revelation all week with the midfielder repeatedly posting pictures of himself with the caption 'I'm ready, are you?'.

 

He will be live steaming the event, whatever it may be, via his Facebook and Periscope sites and fans have been speculating what his big admission could be.

 

Some fans believe Mata will be releasing a book or unveiling United's kit for next season while others claim that it could be a new contract or even an Old Trafford exit.

 

Mata started a heated debate earlier this week after he hit out at his peers, admitting footballers earn too much money.+

 

He said: "Football is very well remunerated at this level. It’s like we live in a bubble.

"Compared to the rest of society, we earn a ridiculous amount. It’s unfathomable.

"With respect to the world of football, I earn a normal wage. But compared to 99.9 per cent of Spain and the rest of the world, I earn a silly amount."

Mata also blasted the attitude of football’s young stars and accused some of them of being arrogant.
The World Cup winner added: "You see kids who think they’re rock stars, wearing extravagant clothes and driving flash cars. Sometimes you have to take them aside and have a word.
"I don’t enjoy the business side of football. I love the game and I love training and competing.
"I’d take a pay cut if there was less business involvement in the sport."
